A fantastic book. It brings home the true horror of deforestation and how it continues to devistate local communities in Cambodia. Pretty dishearting stuff, but Kens excellent character descriptions, dark humour and the obvious passion with with he writes make it a real page-turner. Best of all perhaps is the call to action – I know I won’t be buying garden furniture (and many other wooden products) without carefully checking where they come from. Read this book!

‘My Journey with a Remarkable Tree’ really opened my eye to the scale of the corruption and wanton distruction of the magnificent forest trees – so beautifully described by Ken.. I have, personally had the privelege of standing within a ‘cathedral’ of giant Kauri trees – an experience, believe me.. For all that Ken endured to get the ‘message’ out to us all about what is happening in Asia right now with regard to the distruction of the forests. I sincerely hope that those with the authority, can bring those responsible to justice and halt the carnage out there before it’s too late… Or is it too late..? Proud of you Ken.. Good luck… Roy

“My Journey with A Remarkable Tree” is utterly captivating. Ken Finn writes with such sincerity that the result is a truly remarkable and compassionate book. The illegal logging taking place in Asia is totally horrific and it really does hit home through Finn’s words. This is not to say it is a morose piece of work, quite the contrary, the little anecdotes and the humour shine through frequently. It is obvious when reading it that he truly put his heart and soul into writing it and that shows through onto the page. He writes with such honesty as to make you feel like you are there sharing the journey with him. Thoroughly enjoyable, and in my opinion, should be read by everyone.
